Working in Adult Social Care in Cornwall? We want to hear what it’s really like.

Thousands of people across Cornwall work every day to support adults with care needs and we hear regularly about the pressures they face: housing costs, travel challenges, workload, digital change, recruitment issues and high levels of stress.

That’s why Healthwatch Cornwall is launching a new study to hear directly from the people who know the system best: the paid adult social care workforce.

Issue report: Significant pressures in GP surgeries are affecting patient care in Cornwall

Delays in diagnosis, preventable hospital admissions, and some patients incurring significant personal costs, sometimes thousands of pounds, are among the key findings of Healthwatch Cornwall’s new report on GP access.

The comprehensive, 44-page document highlights widespread problems, including the “8.00am scramble” to get an appointment, difficulties getting through on the phone, not being able to see a regular doctor, lack of clear surgery communication, digital barriers and accessibility.
