Grounded in our Theory of Change and guided by our 2024–2025 work plan, these Impact reports go beyond surface-level feedback to uncover the real lived experience barriers and opportunities within Cornwall’s health and social care systems. Each report focuses on a strategically chosen issue such as dentistry and emergency department and explores not just what is happening, but why it matters and how things can improve.
Crucially, our impact reports showcase the positive changes made by services that have listened and responded to people’s voices, with Healthwatch Cornwall often playing a pivotal role in influencing decisions, co-designing solutions, and promoting people-led innovation. While not all our recommendations from the initial reports have yet been addressed, the impact reports demonstrate a clear trajectory of system change—highlighting where progress is being made and where further work is needed.
The insights gathered through our initial surveys not only shape our own impact reports but also directly influence the strategic planning of many health and social care providers across Cornwall. These insights help organisations identify service gaps, prioritise resources, and design more inclusive, responsive care.
Finally, our impact reports serve an essential feedback function: closing the loop with those who have taken the time to share their lived experiences. By showing how their input has shaped services—or continues to inform ongoing improvements—we honour that contribution and reaffirm the value of every voice in Cornwall's health and social care future.
