Lively public engagement at the Royal Cornwall Show

Healthwatch Cornwall attended the Royal Cornwall Show in June, our outreach team created a fun and engaging stand for the event featuring activities for all ages.

We asked people to have their say on health and social care services in the county and, within the playful spirit-of-the-day, offered visitors the chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher.

Visitors were asked to vote for the health issue that is most important to them one that effects themselves personally or somebody in their community.

Mental health came out on top followed by cancer. We will be using this sort of scoring system to understand public opinion on various health and social care areas within the county in our new digital platform (launching later in the year).

People added to our 'big ideas' board telling us what they would like to see from our new digital platform, what would make it easy for them to use and engage with.

It was clear people would like a place online where they could speak to others, get advice and health tips on an interactive, easy-to-access website.

Despite the rain we had a fantastic time at the show and will definitely be back next year!
